First attempt at Distress Inks

SO my crafty new year’s resolution was to try out Distress Inks.  I was advised to start with light colours to start with, so I bought ‘Old Paper’ and ‘Spun Sugar’ by Tim Holtz, and a blending tool.

The first card uses ‘Old Paper’ and an image from Saturated Canary, coloured with Promarkers.

I am entering this card in the Saturated Canary Challenge – Song Inspiration.  This engagement card is inspired by the song ‘Make You Feel my Love’ by Bob Dylan, more recently covered by Adele.

This next card also has an image from Saturated Canary, coloured with Promarkers.  This time, I used ‘Spun Sugar’ Distress Ink.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

In the Pink – Pink and Pearlie

Sketch Saturday – Week 240

The last card has some distressing aswell, but not with inks!  I used some Core’dinations black card, and distressed the edges with a scissors to show the white core.  The image is from Mo Manning (I use this one a lot!), coloured with Promarkers (Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5).

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Mo’s Digital Challenge – Anything Goes

I Love Promarkers – Monochrome

I attended the above wedding over a week ago, the day after Christmas, but with it being a busy time, I only got around to making the card yesterday!  My gift for the couple was 120 cakepops for the wedding!  The colour scheme was purple, so I got some purple lollipop sticks and purple gel food colouring from Cake Couture so that they would match.  You can see my tutorial for cakepops here.

Red Wedding Cards

Two cards for a wedding we have this weekend.  The colour scheme is red so I incorporated that and put a bit of gold with it.

This first has an image from Mo Manning, which is coloured with Promarkers.  I am entering this in Mo’s ‘Bis for’ Challenge (Bride)and Sketch Saturday Week 228.

The second card is one that I have made a few times!  But this is the first time I have done it with red. The hearts are cut with my Cricut.

Wedded Bliss

Here are two cards I’ve made for a wedding we have this week.
This one is for the groom to give to his bride. The image is from Saturated Canary and she is called ‘Double Take’. The image is clean and simple and I kept the card to the same theme. It is colored with Promarkers and the colours I used were:
Hair – Mustard, sandstone, cinnamon and cocoa.
Skin – Dusky Pink, ivory and blossom.
Dress – Ivory, satin and vanilla.
Inside the card are the lyrics to the song ‘This Guy’s in Love with You’, which is to be their first dance.

I am entering this card in the challenge I Love Promarkers – Gold, silver, bronze.

The next card I can’t claim credit for; I got the idea from my friend Pam. The hearts were cut with my Cricut (Craft Room Basics). The paper flowers are handmade, also with the help of my Cricut.

I am entering this card in the challenge Fantabulous Cricut – Wedded Bliss.

I hope you like my wedding cards. Please leave a comment if you have paid a visit. x

Five Shades of Cool Grey

Two projects today.  First is a bookmark inspired by the oh-so-popular trilogy ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.  Unfortunately (or not!), I don’t have 50 shades of grey promarkers, only 5, so they had to do!  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs.IMG_9167

I am entering this card into the Sassy Studio Designs challenge on Paper Craft Planet – Summer Reading.

Secondly, I have a card, with a similar colour scheme.  My father-in-law is getting married in a few weeks, so I have to make a few cards for different people to give, and this is the first.  The image of the bride & groom dancing is from Mo Manning.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:

Mo’s Digital Challenge 143 – Dancing & Singing.

(Mo is also have a Guest Design Team Call (exciting!), details are in the link above.

Thanks for looking, please leave a comment.

Colouring in :-)

I recently rediscovered ‘colouring in’, except this time it’s grown-up style, using Promarkers. These double-ended markers come in many, many colours, and are great for blending and shading. I bought a set of 10 to start with, and am slowly adding to it from Cardz n Scrapz where you can get them for €2 each.

I never got the hang of rubber stamping, so I use the promarkers to colour digital stamps. Its very therapeutic! Theres loads to be found online for free (great blog here). I have bought some lovely ones from Mami Doodles. They have regular challenges, and here is my first entry (so proud of myself!):

The main thing on my list: You!

Please leave a comment; all advice, criticism and praise welcome!

Here’s some more of my first adventures with Promarkers:
