I recently took part in two online craft swaps. It’s very exciting sending a parcel off to a stranger and waiting for their reaction. Also equally exciting getting a surprise back in the post. I’ve been very lucky in all the lovely crafts I’ve received in all the swaps I’ve be part of.
For the first one I used a kit for a memories book that I got from Jackie Mooney. I made it into a chipboard album and added one or two extra bits. There’s space for two photos in this album.
I also sent a few cards, but I only took a photo of one of them. I used a digi I had coloured in ages ago and hasn’t made it onto a card. I never seem to have time to colour or craft just for the same if it anymore! 😦
I used a coffee cup collar in this card aswell. Waste not want not!
And here is what I received…..a lovely box full of goodies.
Homemade Chai tea (recipe to follow) and a gorgeous mug with a crocheted cosy. I’m looking forward to trying these out.
Two cute egg Cosies for my two boys.
And two beautiful crocheted doilies.
Wasn’t I lucky?
The second swap was an alphabet swap. My letter was ‘C’ so I made a Clock stepper card. I used my new Tim Holtz clock die and some digi stamps from Mami Doodles.
I am entering this card in the ‘Cut it Up’ challenge – What’s bugging you? (see my little ladybug?!)
My swappee had the letter ‘D’, so she made me an altered notelet holder with my name on it, how clever is that? I’ll definitely be making some of these for Christmas gifts.

Here are some Christmas cards for boys I have made. All images have been coloured with Promarkers and all shapes have been cut with nestabilities. I took inspiration from Sketches for different challenges for each of the cards.
I am entering this card into Sketch Saturday Challenge #235.
I am entering this card into the Saturated Canary Challenge Lou’s Sketch. (image from Saturated Canary).
Thanks for looking.
A friend of mine posted this poem on Facebook about going to school for the first time. It’s a real tear-jerker! Little J won’t be starting until next year but it still struck a chord with me. I made a simple little card using the poem and an image from Mami Doodles.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
I Love Promarkers – Anything Goes
Fashionista Challenge 6 – Card for a Child
Here’s the text of the poem:
First Day of School
I wonder what you’re doing right now
and if everyone is treating you kind.
I hope there is a special person,
a nice friend that you can find.
I wonder if the teacher know just
how special you are to me.
And if the brightness of your heart
is something she can see.
I wonder if you are thinking about
me and if you need a hug.
I already miss the sound of your voice
and how you give my leg a tug.
I wonder if you could possibly understand
how hard it is for me to let you grow.
On this day know that my heart breaks,
for this is the first step in letting my baby go.
I’ve lost count of how many Communion cards I’ve made in the last month; I’m officially fed of of them! 😀 Here’s a few of them anyway. Images are from Karen’s Doodles and Mami Doodles.
My friend Sinead (my cupcakes biggest fan) asked me for a twin box of cupcakes for her and her daughter for Valentine’s Day. Here’s what I came up with for her!
I made the box from the Cricut Cartridge ‘Sweet Tooth Boxes’. I used an image from Mami Doodles and embellished the box with embossed die-cut hearts, pink gems and polka dot ribbon. The cupcakes are vanilla, with a banana and strawberry buttercream and lovehearts.
I’m entering this project into the following challenges:
Mami Doodles – Red/Pink/White
Shelly’s Images – Love in Colour
Whimsical Designs – Colours of Love
Cutie Pie Challenge – Anything but a card
I love Promarkers – Love is in the Air

PSHappy Valentine’s Day to those of you who are entering into the spirit of things, and STAMP OUT VALENTINE’S DAY to those who aren’t. 😀
There’s a love affair going on in my house; it’s between my Cricut and Craft Room. If you use Cricut Craft Room you get the free online-only cartridge ‘Craft Room Basics’. Aswell as a font, it has some plain and scalloped shapes that can be used for many, many projects.
It’s very easy to cut a shaped card using craft room. If anyone would like the CCR files, just drop me a line and I’ll email the ones I’ve made to you.
I used the plain and scalloped heart shape from Craft Room Basics, an image from Mami Doodles, which I coloured with promarkers, and some stickles and other finishing touches.
The promarker colours I used are: Lilac, Lavender, Cool Grey 1, Cool Grey 3 and the Blender pen.
I could spend an eternity holding your hand.
I am entering this card in the following two challenges:
Passion for Promarkers – Week 135 – Grey & Purple
Mami Doodles – Challenge #42 – For a Loved One
