Fairy Door

I had seen these Fairy Doors making the rounds; but they really caught my attention when I saw one that was handmade by Jackie Mooney. My son was due his first visit from the tooth fairy, so I asked Jackie to make one for him.

You can see Jackie’s Doors here

I had seen a friend make a little scene in a box frame to put a Fairy Door into, and I thought it was so cute, that I had to have a go. I had someone in mind, who LOVES Fairies, that I wanted to make a gift for, so I ordered another Door from Jackie. I used my Cricut to cut a tree, fence and grass, a die to cut the birdcage and birds, and used punches to cut some leaves and butterflies. The whole thing went into a Ribba frame from Ikea.

I hope you like it!

First Birthday Girl

Three cards I made for my little niece Lucy for her first birthday.

First cards of 2013 – Chocolate Tones

I took a little crafting break over Christmas but I’m back in full swing now.

Three cards with brown tones.  The first is for my sister-in-law and her new fiancé.  The image is from Sassy Cheryl (Delivery with a Kiss) and it’s coloured with the following Promarkers: Tulip,  Buttercup, Mustard, Sandstone, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Burnt Umber and Umber.  I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl – Anything Goes

I Love Promarkers – Monochrome

The next card has an image of Saturated Canary, again coloured with Promarkers.  It is inspired by the song ‘Breath of Life’ by Florence and the Machine, from the move ‘ Snow White and the Huntsman’.  You can see the video for the song here.  I am entering this card in the Saturated Canary Challenge, Song Inspiration!

The last card is very different, even though it has a similar colour scheme.  No digi stamp  in this one; I used some die-cut decopage that I’ve had in my stash for ages.  It’s ‘Wellington’ Bear by DoCrafts, and so are the papers.  The ’70’ is cut with my Cricut, using the ‘Quarter Note’ cartridge.  The ribbon is from a box of Butler’s chocolates.  My mother always keeps them for me from any boxes she gets.  🙂

Christmas Craft Swap

I take part in an online craft swap, four times a year.

This is what I made for my swapee for the Christmas Swap.  I used my Cricut to cut the shapes and letters.  I was quite happy with how it turned out!

This is what I recieved, a lovely purple and turquoise crocheted hat and scarf.

Saturated Canary Cards

Here are 3 cards I made this week using Saturated Canary digi stamps. All are coloured with promarkers. I love colouring the hair on these images. The first two cards are for my sister and the third is for a friend.

I cut the card base using my Cricut (Ashlyn’s Alphabet). I am entering this one into the Saturated Canary challenge: Fairytales.

Red Wedding Cards

Two cards for a wedding we have this weekend.  The colour scheme is red so I incorporated that and put a bit of gold with it.

This first has an image from Mo Manning, which is coloured with Promarkers.  I am entering this in Mo’s ‘Bis for’ Challenge (Bride)and Sketch Saturday Week 228.

The second card is one that I have made a few times!  But this is the first time I have done it with red. The hearts are cut with my Cricut.

Cricut cards

This card is for my Goddaughter who is turning 1 this week.  The inspiration came from this card by Jackie Mooney.  I cut the card base with my cricut; I had a bit of trouble with it and had to get the scissors out afterwards :-/  It turns out that the blade was totally blunt! :-O  Anyway, I used Craft Room Basics, Ashlyn’s Alphabet and Celebrations.  The image is from Mo Manning and she is coloured with Promarkers.  Some ribbon, butterflies and pearls to finish.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Mo’s Digital Challenge – Anything Goes

Bitten by the Bug 2 – Shaped Card

Fashionista Challenge – Card for a Child

*****I am resurrecting this card for the end of year challenge from Mo’s Digital Pencil – Fave Mo card made by YOU!******

This next project isn’t a card, it’s a sort of framed scrapbook page (frame not shown in the photo below!).  It’s a birthday present for my friend Aisling, who is a fabulous singer / musician (and her favourite colour is turquoise :).  The cuts are from the Cricut Cartridge ‘ Quarter Note’, which I just love.  I added some ribbon, a bling charm and some gems and card candi.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge – On the Job.

Cut it Up Challenge – Anything Goes
