Here’s a card I made for my friend who just bought her first house.  The image is a freebie from Doodle Pantry and it is coloured with promarkers.  I am entering in the Doodle Pantry September Challenge.

I made this card for my brother for his birthday.  The image is from Sassy Cheryl and it is coloured with Promarkers.  I find it hard to make cards for men but I was quite happy with this one!

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sassy Cheryl – Use a die cut

I Love Promarkers – Occupations

Thanks for looking.

Snowman Sketch Challenge

My first Christmas card of the season! I followed the sketch set for Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge. I love sketches, it takes the guesswork out of making a card! The image is from Sassy Cheryl, coloured with Promarkers. The wordart and sentiment are from clipart fairy.

Frizzy Jinx

This card is for my friend Alisling (you can see the present I made her here). The image is from Saturated Canary and she is coloured with Promarkers.  I am entering this card in the Saturated Canary Challenge – Dotty, and Sketch Saturday Week 224.

Cricut cards

This card is for my Goddaughter who is turning 1 this week.  The inspiration came from this card by Jackie Mooney.  I cut the card base with my cricut; I had a bit of trouble with it and had to get the scissors out afterwards :-/  It turns out that the blade was totally blunt! :-O  Anyway, I used Craft Room Basics, Ashlyn’s Alphabet and Celebrations.  The image is from Mo Manning and she is coloured with Promarkers.  Some ribbon, butterflies and pearls to finish.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Mo’s Digital Challenge – Anything Goes

Bitten by the Bug 2 – Shaped Card

Fashionista Challenge – Card for a Child

*****I am resurrecting this card for the end of year challenge from Mo’s Digital Pencil – Fave Mo card made by YOU!******

This next project isn’t a card, it’s a sort of framed scrapbook page (frame not shown in the photo below!).  It’s a birthday present for my friend Aisling, who is a fabulous singer / musician (and her favourite colour is turquoise :).  The cuts are from the Cricut Cartridge ‘ Quarter Note’, which I just love.  I added some ribbon, a bling charm and some gems and card candi.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge – On the Job.

Cut it Up Challenge – Anything Goes

Birthday Girl Cards

Some great news to start off with! I won last week’s Passion for Promarkers Challenge. I’m delighted! You’ll find my winning card here.

Here’s two cards for little girls whose birthday parties we have this week.

First, a blue card with an image from Sassy Cheryl, coloured with promarkers. I am entering this is Sassy Cheryl’s challenge ‘all the blues’, and Totally Gorjuss ‘sketch challenge’.

This card has a stamped Gorjuss girl, some lace, butterflies, glitter, and pearls. How well they all go together! I am entering this in the Passion for Promarkers Challenge ‘Lace and swirls‘ and the Fashionista Challenge ‘A card for a child’.

For both of these cards, I embossed the envelopes to match. I think it’s really effective!

Thanks for visiting. Please leave a comment, I love them.

Starting School Poem

A friend of mine posted this poem on Facebook about going to school for the first time.  It’s a real tear-jerker!  Little J won’t be starting until next year but it still struck a chord with me.  I made a simple little card using the poem and an image from Mami Doodles.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

I Love Promarkers – Anything Goes

Fashionista Challenge 6 – Card for a Child

Here’s the text of the poem:

First Day of School

(Wendy Silva)

I wonder what you’re doing right now
and if everyone is treating you kind.
I hope there is a special person,
a nice friend that you can find.

I wonder if the teacher know just
how special you are to me.
And if the brightness of your heart
is something she can see.

I wonder if you are thinking about
me and if you need a hug.
I already miss the sound of your voice
and how you give my leg a tug.

I wonder if you could possibly understand
how hard it is for me to let you grow.
On this day know that my heart breaks,
for this is the first step in letting my baby go.

Smartie Kids

I made this cake for a kids birthday party recently using my favourite Chocolate Biscuit Cake recipe.  I usually top this with malteasers, but I wanted to add some colour so I used Smarties instead.  The cake wasn’t very deep so I cut the chocolate fingers in half before sticking them on.

This recipe is a little too rich for kids, so I made them all their own mini-cake instead.  Very simple, just digestive or rich tea biscuits, spread with a little melted chocolate and topped with mini smarties.  These went down a treat!
